Japanese label Undercover is the work of designer Jun Takahashi. The avant-garde, adventurous and sometimes bizarre label has been delighting the fashion world since 1994, exploring dark themes and creating designs he describes as 'cute but scary, beautiful but ugly'. Undercover's ready-to-wear clothing is characteristically punky, deconstructed, inventive and thoroughly contemporary. Edgy slogans and abstract prints are splashed across Undercover tops, exuding a devil-may-care, rebellious attitude. Dramatically slashed, torn apart and reinvented shirts create wildly unusual shapes that are unequivocally cutting-edge.
