On days when the rain begins to pour, make sure you don't leave the house without a pair of the brand's Sienna Rainboots. Made from rubber, the Sienna is a water-resistant boot with a wool insole for warmth and comfort on rainy days.

The UGG Boots Buying Guide

The original and the best, UGG boots are the go-to for cold-weather dressing. Chilly days wouldn't be the same without the famed sheepskin-lined suede boots. Keep it classic in the signature short and tall boots in go-with-everything black, sand and chestnut. Change it up with instantly recognizable styles like the Bailey, Valentina and Kara in fresh colors from cobalt blue to animal print.

UGG’s collection of boots demonstrates why the American label is renowned for its luxurious comfort and exceptional craftsmanship. In addition to UGG’s instantly recognizable Classic boots, the brand creates a wide range of footwear that are functional without compromising on style or quality of materials. Read on for our women’s UGG boots buying guide, which will help you decide on the best styles for you, what size you need and how to care for them properly.

The Most Wanted UGG Boots

  • UGG Bailey Button Boots

A fresh take on UGG’s signature silhouette, the brand’s Bailey Boots feature a wooden button that you can fasten for additional warmth or fold down to showcase the fluffy collar. The Bailey Button II is pretreated for stain protection and comes with a comfortable Treadlite by UGG outsole.

  • UGG Classic Short Boots

Originally worn by surfers, UGG Classic Short Boots have since established themselves as a casualwear essential. Made from Twinface sheepskin and suede, the Classic II version has been pretreated for stain-and-water resistance. A lightweight sole increases cushioning, durability, and traction with every step. They have a shaft height of 8”, and come in a range of colorways.

  • UGG Classic Tall Boots

Designed to sit higher on the leg than the Classic Short, UGG Classic Tall Boots have a shaft height of 11.75”. They sit on a Treadlite by UGG™ outsole for comfort, and feature overlock stitch detailing on the seams, a suede heel counter and a leather heel label with embossed UGG logo. The Classic Tall is available in a variety of colors, with black, gray and suede some of the most popular.

The UGG Boots Sizing Guide

UGG boots use US sizing, but also feature UK, EU and Japan sizing on the box and inside products. You can use the chart below to convert between standard size formats. For example, if you are a UK women’s 5, it correlates to a US size 7 and a European size 38.

Women’s UGG boots are manufactured in a standard B width, and are not currently offered in wide or narrow widths. It is also worth noting that to convert a men's size to women's, add two to your regular women’s size. A men's size 9 is therefore the same size as a women's size 11.

How To Care For Your UGG Boots

To ensure that your UGG boots last, follow these simple cleaning steps and help them stay in good condition:

- Gently brush the surface of the boots to remove dirt.

- Dampen the surface with a clean, damp sponge and apply a small amount of UGG Cleaner & Conditioner. Gently scrub, before removing the residue with the sponge.

- Stuff boots with paper towels to maintain shape

- Let boots dry naturally for 24 hours away from direct heat and sunlight.

- Once your boots are dry, use a suede brush and brush in a single direction to restore original appearance.

It is also recommended that you protect your UGG boots with UGG Protector to keep them looking new.

What UGG boots are waterproof?

There are many UGG boots that will protect your feet in wet weather, including the brand’s Birch and Adirondack snow boots. The Adirondack is made from waterproof leather and suede, and has extra insulation that’s built to withstand temperatures of -32˚C. You’ll also find some casual everyday styles are also waterproof, such as the Aureo, Bonham, Wilde and Hazel.

There are also specific waterproof versions of UGG classic and mini sheepskin-lined boots.

Are UGG boots true to size?

UGG recommends taking a full size smaller than your usual size in its Classic Collection or a half-size down if in between sizes. Boots in the Classic Collection tend to run large, and sheepskin suede can stretch with wear.

UGG’s fashion, snow and rain boots are generally more true to size and also come in half sizes.

How can I tell if my UGG boots are real?

UGG is renowned for its expertly crafted boots and use of premium materials. Fake UGG boots are usually made with inferior materials and poor workmanship will be evident, from low-quality stitching to logos spelt incorrectly.

UGG began using security features on its labels in 2010, in an effort to make counterfeit products easier to spot. Authentic boots should feature a holographic sun logo that changes from black to white when rotated 90 degrees.

You can check if a website has previously been identified as selling fake UGG products on the UGG online site. UGG updates the list frequently, but it is not comprehensive. Authentic UGG products are sold by UGG retail and outlet stores, as well as authorized department stores, retailers and specialty stores which you can find on Lyst.
