Before attempting to clean cotton, we would advise always checking the label to ensure no specific care instructions are required. We recommend hand or machine washing in cold water of 30°C or below. This will help avoid colour fading and dye transfer. Gently stretch cotton to restore the original shape and air dry naturally.
Lace is a beautiful yet delicate fabric, and will need to be cleaned properly to prolong its life. If your lace becomes stained, it will need to be cleaned quickly as stains can stick to the lace fibres permanently if left untreated for too long. We advise hand washing your lace garment in warm water, unless specified on the item’s care label. Use a mild detergent, and allow the lace to soak for around 30 minutes. Rinse well to remove soap, and then press gently to remove any excess water. Never wring or twist lace fabric. Lay the lace flat to dry, away from direct heat and sunlight. To minimize the risk of damage to your lace garments, it is recommended to always place them in a laundry bag if you do clean them in the washing machine and use a gentle and cool wash cycle.
Silk has long been associated with luxury, and while it is a delicate fabric, taking care of it doesn’t need to be difficult. Due to its very delicate nature, we advise carefully following the care instructions on each individual silk product. Some silk products are strictly dry clean only, while others can be hand washed or machine washed on a gentle, cold-water cycle. If you do decide to hand wash silk, always use lukewarm water and a specific, mild detergent in order to protect the silk’s natural properties. Avoid spot cleaning silk, as rubbing in only one area can cause the material to lighten in just that spot. Avoid putting in the tumble dryer and instead lay flat to dry naturally. If the care label advises machine washing, then ensure a gentle, cold-water cycle is chosen. If the care label on your silk item says that it can be ironed, then use a low iron setting and ideally iron while it is still slightly damp.
