About)) The Klondike Gold rush began in 1896 when local miners found shiny gold deposits in the remote Yukon region of Alaska. 100,000 prospectors travelled over miserable terrain to seek their fortune in the freezing mountains. Miners sifted through tons of silty dirt by hand, searching for gold nuggets that broke out of quartz deposits deep in the earth. These rings are made with gold nuggets mined from those same eroded Klondike streams and riverbeds - the land hasn't given up all of it's gold quite yet. We've found an Alaskan miner who finds gold with a pan and a sluice similar to the ones used by the earliest prospectors. These nuggets are 75-85% pure gold, with other mineral content like silver and copper naturally mixed in. So although each nugget weighs 2 grams, the shape and colour will vary slightly. Each one is unique, without any cutting, shaping, or treatment other than the 14k gold band we've added. Details)). Made by hand in our Brooklyn studio. Materials: Nuggets are 16-23k gold, with an estimated average of 75-85% gold. Other minerals like silver and copper are naturally included. Band is 14k gold. Measurements: Band measures 1mm wide. Gold nuggets vary in size and shape but average 1/8" in diameter. Inspiration)). Deadwood, the HBO masterpiece set in a gold mining camp in 1870s South Dakota. Colour: metallic
